Bath Spa University was founded in 1852 as the Bath School of Art, gaining university status in 2005. It is UK’s 6th biggest provider of Teacher Education. The University aims to be a leading educational institution in creativity, culture and enterprise. In conjunction to this aim is the Global Academy of Liberal Arts which brings together Liberal Arts Provider from around the world through teaching, research collaboration and an annual meeting. Activities include joint programme development, comparative research, student exchange, remote teaching, joint student projects and visiting lectures. Bath Spa emphasis on Green Environment is made evident with its ranking of 1st out of 46 universities participating in the Student Barometer (a survey conducted around the world) in the Autumn Wave 2016 for “Eco-friendly attitude”.
