You get the best of both worlds when you enroll in Southern Cross University’s Bachelor of Business (Aviation Management) & Commercial Pilot Licence – learning 8 business units in Year 1 and finishing with 8 aviation management units in Year 3. In Year 2, you’ll learn the practical skills and knowledge needed to fly as a professional pilot, earning along the way the Airways Aviation Certificate IV comprising of three pilot licences: 1. Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL), 2. Private Pilot Licence (PPL), 3. Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) on top of the Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Flight Operations).
You will be trained in the Cessna 172 Skyhawk, Cessna 182 and Duchess BE76, and is ensured a minimum of 190 hours flying including at least:
- 70 hours as pilot in command
- 20 hours cross country as pilot in command
- 10 hours instrument flight time
- 10 hours dual instrument in-flight
- 5 hours night flight including 1 hour solo circuit
