What Is childhood studies?

 

As the term is coined, Childhood Studies is the study of children and young people. This interdisciplinary subject offers an insight into the holistic development, education and experience of children and youths. The study is of utmost significance to 21st century research in
understanding the perspectives and ideas held by children and the people they interact with.

You will have the chance to work inclusively with this group of people, experience at first hand how living environment and culture impacts a child’s perspective and wellbeing. You will also
explore topics such as protection and provision of children’s rights.

 

This course will focus highly on child-centred approach, where one is encouraged to regularly consider the interest of the child. The emphasis is placed on experience based learning in
additional to academic study.
