Generally, Teachers in Singapore teaching within the government sector must attain a Diploma in Education (Dip.Ed) or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), both attainable only at the National Institute of Education. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Education welcomes trained teachers possessing foreign professional teaching qualification and degree in the relevant discipline.
Generally, a minimum qualification requirement in GCE A-Levels, Diploma or International Baccalaureate (IB) is required for pursuing a degree in Education overseas.
