Background/History
Chartered as University College of Swansea in 1920 then formally adopted its current title in 2007, Swansea University is a public research-led university located in Swansea, Wales. It is the third largest university in Wales in terms of number of students (approx. more than 16,000 students) and offers more than 330 undergraduate courses and 120 postgraduate courses. Swansea University community prospers on exploration and discovery, providing the right balance of outstanding teaching and research, complemented by an enviable quality of life.
Swansea University has two campuses; The Singleton Park Campus and The Bay Campus. The university is set in a mature parkland and botanical garden overlooking Swansea Bay beach.
